Mission Statement

The American Warmblood Society is a non-profit Sport Horse corporation founded in 1983 and dedicated to the Olympic Sport Horse. As one of the International voices of the Sport Horse community, the AWS promotes, represents and registers Sport Horses for the Olympic Sports and Combined Driving worldwide and is actively involved in issues of Breeding Selection, Performance Indexing, Research and continuing Education in the Sport Horse industry.

The ultimate goal of the AWS is to assist members in producing the finest International Equine Competitors. By never sacrificing the classical methods of breeding and never making recommendations or pre-judgments concerning specific breeds. The AWS is proud to know that members are:

To represent and promote the North American Warmbloods for the North American Teams in Dressage, Show Jumping, Combined Training and Combined Driving. Honor all breeds Diversity. Treat all with dignity and respect. Primary focus will always be understanding and responding to the involvement for all members. Highest standards of personal and professional ethics guide our actions. Action that is always consistent and fair.

To gain world wide recognition of the American Warmbloods through the efforts of the all-volunteer directors, representatives and our members. Delegate locally, regionally and nationally. Open decision making. Educational supported opportunities of expertise. Foster the highest degree of needs of those who rely upon us. Best efforts of Volunteers. Strive continually to improve service, maintain excellence and offer direction.
