UNIQUE EQUINE LIFE NUMBER

 

 

            The AWS currently assigns the appropriate UELN - Unique Equine Life Number (international equine identification number) to all AWS registered, recorded or nominated horses. This UELN is now used internationally by the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses (WBFSH) and the FEI (Worldwide Governing Body for Sport Horses). This is for the purpose of performance recording and rating all great sport horses in the world by their bloodlines and for offspring performance records and ratings.

 

The UELN has 15 characters that represent the following:

       first 3 characters          -     Country of 1st registration

       second 3 characters    -     Organization of 1st registration

       last 9 characters          -     Registration number of the horse with the 1^st Organization

 

This UELN is also printed on the AWS Certificates of Registration.
