DNA TESTING -  Parent Verification and/or DNA Requirements

 

Following the guidelines of the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses (WBFSH), the American Warmblood Society (Full Member of WBFSH) has now implemented the following requirements for all Registered, Nominated or Recorded horses. The following requirements are for the purpose of Parent verification, whenever possible and to maintain credibility as a Sport Horse Registry.

 

DNA testing also satisfies one of the requirements for the “Elite” status and the “Approved for Breeding” status. DNA is also a very good thing for owners to have in case of theft or any questions of ownership.

 

Only One of the following (A thru D) must be included with the application for Registration, Nomination or Recording.

 

 

 

A.      Enclose copy of Covering / Breeding Certificate

          This is documenting the Sire and Dam of the horse to be Registered, Nominated or Recorded.

 

Or

 

B.      Enclose copy of Registration papers, 

           Only if horse previously registered with another Association

 

Or

 

C.     DNA Case Number:  _________________________

                If horse was previously DNA tested.

 

Or

 

        D.   DNA Testing Fees                                                           75.00
