AWS ANNOUNCES:
2009 Volunteer of the Year Award

The AWS has many members who assist in numerous ways to help maintain a high standard and to keep improving the organization. The Volunteer of the Year is one way to acknowledge someone who has been outstanding in the past year.

Joy Roelofsz, OR has done an outstanding job representing the AWS throughout Region 6 in 2009. She volunteered her time by requesting awards to be presented at many, many dressage competitions. This is a time consuming task; contacting show managers to request permission to offer the AWS awards, being present at the competitions and reporting the results back to the AWS. It entailed much time and effort. With some suggestions from Joy the AWS has simplified this procedure beginning in 2010. The AWS thanks Joy for all she has done this year and hope she will continue now that the procedure is easier thanks to her.
