2008 Breeder of the Year Award

Congratulations to Constance Fisher, Fisher Ranch Warmbloods, OR for being the AWS Breeder of the year. Connie has been a member since 1999 and has been organizing and hosting AWS inspections yearly since 2001. In 2006 she was the AWS Volunteer of the Year. The AWS is fortunate to have such a consientious, active member.
The five top 2008 registered foals used in the in the calculation average 73.190%. One foal scored 75.900% and the others were solid Red Preferred scores between 70.850 and 73.950%.
Most of Connie's foals have been sired by her Clydesdale (AWS) stallion Sweet Water Black Powder Joe. He has just satisfied his "Approved for Breeding" status through his off-spring. He has sired 36 off-spring with inspection / in-hand scores with an average score of 70.743%.
The "Breeder of the Year" this year was determined by using the top five (5) AWS off-spring that were registered in 2008 and had the highest average Inspection or In-hand scores.
There were 7 qualifying breeders in this years calculations. We thank all of you. These other breeders are doing a good job in their breeding programs producing quality American Warmbloods. Continued sucess in 2009.
