AWS National Director
Nikki has bred, raised, trained, and competed horses in the sports she evaluates for the AWS;
*Dressage Sporthorse In-Hand
Nikki is no stranger to AWS, and in fact she was the former AWS National Sporthorse Inspector from 1996-2009. She was instrumental in developing the AWS inspection methodology & evaluation process, through her knowledge of the horse sports and training in the different disciplines of horse judging. While the AWS National Inspector, Nikki trained and supervised three adjunct inspectors to assist AWS with the vast responsibilities of inspections throughout the U.S. These three inspectors were, Douglas Christiansen, Rachel Ehrlich and Carrie Vacoles. Also, during this time, Nikki worked toward and received an AAS degree in Equine Science with High Distinction. She was formerly licensed as an “r” USEF/USDF Dressage Sporthorse in-hand Judge for five years. Nikki has studied and learner judged with many national and international judges, and has traveled to most of the United States and Canada inspecting approximately 300 horses a year. At AWS’s peak she was either conducting or was overseeing approximately 40 inspections a year, before the registry was sold to Kathy Wilson. Nikki's great work ethic will enable AWS to once again be performing inspections within the 40 range, and to provide the great customer service AWS members deserve and should expect!
